Ribbon
1. Check that the ribbon is installed correctly. Install ribbon.
2. A bad ribbon/media combination can cause insufficient
friction between media and ribbon. Verify that the correct
ribbon is being used. Install correct ribbon.
3. The torque on the ribbon tubes may be too high or one or
both tubes are jammed. Check and adjust the torque on
the ribbon tubes (page 90). Replace any tube that is
damaged or cannot be adjusted.
4. If the ribbon is broken, a portion of it can cover the ribbon
sensor, preventing a RIBBON FAULT message. Check for
and remove all pieces of broken ribbon.
1. Verify that the printing heat setting (Print Intensity) is set to
the proper level. In the CONFIG. CONTROL menu, set
Print Intensity to correct level.
2. Verify that Print Mode is set for Transfer and not Direct
Thermal. Set Print Mode to Transfer.
