P/H Control Mode

Explanation
This is a printer protection
feature. P/H stands for
printhead. When the printer
senses that the printhead
temperature is between131° F
and 138° F (55° C and 59° C),
the print speed is reduced 50%.
This mode greatly extends the
time before a PRINT HEAD
HOT fault message will occur,
and permits long print jobs to
complete without interruption.
Printing stays in this mode until
printhead temperature drops
below 125.6° F (52° C), at which
time full printing speed resumes,
or until the printhead
temperature reaches 140° F
(60° C), at which time printing
stops and the PRINT HEAD
HOT fault message displays.
The power supply has failed.
How To Clear LCD Messages
Solution
The time before the printer
reaches P/H Control Mode can
be extended by doing the
following:
1. Placing the printer in a
cooler environment.
2. Cleaning the printhead more
frequently between print
jobs.
3. Reducing the print speed.
4. Reducing the print intensity.
5. Extending the idle time
between print jobs.
6. Reducing the amount of
black image density per
print job.
1. Make sure the power supply
voltage matches that of the
source power outlet (page
58).
2. Cycle power. If the message
appears, replace the power
supply fuse.
3. Cycle power. If the message
appears, replace the power
supply.
4. Cycle power. If the message
appears, replace the
controller PCBA.
