The Printer Interface
The printer will not function properly if an incorrectly wired interface cable or
the wrong interface cable is installed. When the printer is first powered up, it
resets itself to the following default communication parameters:
Printer configuration settings are entered through the HOST INTERFACE
section of the main menu, which is accessed through the secondary control
panel. (Refer to Chapter 3, "Configuring the Printer" in the User's Manual .)

Ribbon Wrinkle Adjustment

Ribbon wrinkle can cause intermittent thin voids of various lengths and angles
within the printed image. If this happens, perform the ribbon wrinkle
adjustment procedure by following the steps below.
1. Loosen, but do not remove, the three machine screws located on the side
plate of the printhead pivot shaft. (See Figure 5.)
2. While feeding labels and ribbon through the printer, watch the ribbon exit
path for wrinkle stress lines. (See Figure 5.)
3. If the stress lines are slanted toward the left side of the printer, adjust the
side plate horizontally toward the rear of the printer until the stress lines
run vertically on the ribbon.
4. If the stress lines are slanted toward the right side of the printer, adjust the
side plate horizontally toward the front of the printer until the stress lines
run vertically on the ribbon.
5. When you have positioned the side plate so the wrinkle stress lines are
vertical and barely visible, secure the side plate by tightening the three
machine screws you loosened in step 1.
