Converting Power Supply Voltage

You can change the input voltage of the power supply from 115 volts AC to
230 volts AC, or vice versa. To convert power supply voltage, follow the steps
below and refer to Figure 10.
IMPORTANT
Earlier printers may have a 200W power supply, which permits the
choice of 110V or 230V. Later printers have a 300W power supply, which
permits the choice of 115V or 230V. In either case, the power conversion
procedure is the same.
1. Remove the top cover assembly (page 52).
2. Cut the cable tie securing the cables to the cable anchor on top of the
power supply chassis. (See Figure 9.)
3. Tilt the printer and remove the two Phillips head screws securing the
power supply to the printer base. (See Figure 9.)
4. Return the printer to the upright position. Tilt the power supply outward to
expose the component side.
5. To convert from 115VAC to 230VAC: Remove the input power selector
jumper from the 115V jumper post and connect it to the 230V jumper
post. (See Figure 10.)
6. To convert from 230VAC to 115VAC: Remove the input power selector
jumper from the 230V jumper post and connect it to the 115V jumper
post. (See Figure 10.)
7. Position the power supply flush against the flange of the bottom panel and
install the two Phillips head screws. (See Figure 9.)
8. Using a new cable tie, secure the cables to the cable tie anchor on power
supply chassis. (See Figure 9.)
9. Check and adjust cable clearances before operating the printer. (See
page 94.)
10. Install the top cover assembly.
