Removal Procedures

Label Rewind Pulley

The label rewind pulley has 48 teeth. To replace the label rewind pulley, follow
the steps below and refer to Figure 24.
1. Remove the top cover assembly (page 52).
2. Remove the power supply (page 56).
3. Rotate the tension idler pulley (1) counter-clockwise to provide enough
slack to remove the ribbon drive belt (2) from the label rewind pulley (3).
4. Rotate the label rewind pulley (3) until the set screw is visible.
5. Using a 5/64 inch hex key, loosen the set screw and remove the label
rewind pulley (3) from the shaft.
To install the label rewind pulley, follow the steps below and refer to Figure
24.
1. Slide the label rewind pulley (3) onto the shaft.
2. Hold the label rewind tube against the shaft support housing.
3. Put a 0.005 inch shim between the pulley and the shaft support housing.
4. Put a small dab of service-removable thread locking compound on the
pulley set screw and torque the set screw to 11 inch-pounds. Remove the
shim.
5. Rotate the tension idler pulley (1) counter-clockwise to provide slack and
install the ribbon drive belt (2) onto the label rewind pulley (3).
6. Install the power supply (page 56).
7. Install the top cover assembly.
