Appendix C. Settings for each OS
When installing and booting OS, BIOS settings are needed to be changed from the default settings
depending on the OS.Refer to chapter 2 "Hardware" – "BIOS Setup" for BIOS settings details.
The latest information of supported OS is shown in following URL

(Note 1) Select "BIOS SETUP Menu -> Advanced -> OS Control", it appears.
(Note 2) Select "BIOS SETUP Menu -> Advanced -> PCI Subsystem Settings", it appears.
(Note 3) Select "BIOS SETUP Menu -> Advanced -> PCI Subsystem Settings -> Slot Configuration",
it appears.
(Note 4) Select "BIOS SETUP Menu -> Advanced -> CPU Configuration", it appears.
(Note 5) If x2APIC parameter is Enabled, set to Type2. If x2APIC parameter is Disabled, set to
Type1.
(Note 6) PCI-Express slot 1 and 14 are Enabled. Others are Disabled.
(Note 7) If NE3108-003, 4ch 1000Base-T, is configured in a PCI slot, change OPROM setting for the
PCI slot in which the 1000Base-T card is configured, to Enabled.
(Note 8) If using A1080a-E model and the Enable Core Count in the "System Web Console -> Core
Status" menu is more than 32, set to Disabled.
(Note 9) If using A1080a-E model(Xeon E7 series inside) and the one or more in PMM#5/6/7/8 are
mounted and enabled, set to Enabled. Others are Disabled.
(Note 10) If Xeon 7500 processors are mounted, set to Disabled.
(Note 11) If Service Pack 1 is not installed or in case of installing or using Hyper-V, set to Disabled.
(Note 12) If x2APIC parameter is Enabled, set to Type3. If x2APIC parameter is Disabled, set to
Type1.
(Note 13) If using A1080a-E model(Xeon E7 series inside) and the one or more in PMM#5/6/7/8 are
mounted and enabled, set to Enabled. Others are arbitrary (Factory default is
recommended).
