● Power Capping Technology
The Power Capping technology can provide the feature enabling to configure the upper limit regarding
the power consumption of the server. When this feature is enabled, the operating system will
automatically control the CPU performance and the power consumption of the server can not exceed
the upper limit. By using this feature, a user can operate the server for the purpose of reducing the
power consumption of the server.
This Power Capping technology differs from the general Power Capping technology in that the
general Power Capping technology is designed the average of the power consumption does not
exceed the upper limit, however this Power Capping technology is designed the moment of the power
consumption can not exceed the upper limit.
So, the power consumption of the general Power Capping technology will exceed the upper limit,
however the power consumption of this Power Capping technology can not exceed the upper limit.
Instead when this Power Capping technology is enabled, the server's CPU will be controlled in the
power consumption falls below the upper limit. So, the CPU performance will be down.
IMPORTANT:
 The Power Capping technology can be supported in the Mode
Settings by using the management firmware 3.x.x.x later.
