Using Each Operation Management Function

For executing the operation management such as monitoring failures on the server, NEC
ESMPRO Agent and NEC ESMPRO Manager, or software sold separately is required.
Follow the instruction of the setup procedure described later or the description of the software
(when sold separately) to install and set each software.
Make sure to confirm the following points when using each operation management function.
Using Server Management Function
● Setting threshold values, etc, on NEC ESMPRO Manager and on NEC ESMPRO Agent is
required depending on the monitoring items such as the usage monitoring of each component of
the server or the stall monitoring of OS. Refer to the descriptions of each software or online help
for details.
●When DIMMs in the server are changed and the voltage of the DIMMs are different from previous
ones, NEC ESMPRO Agent is needed to be uninstalled once and installed again.
Consult the maintenance service company for details.
●When the setting of the ambient temperature is changed and the version of Management
Firmware is 3.1.0.7 or after, NEC ESMPRO Agent is needed to be uninstalled once and installed
again.(The version of 3.1.0.6 does not exist)
Follow the steps as below or consult the maintenance service company for details.
1) Uninstall NEC ESMPRO Agent
2) DC power off for all servers.
3) Update the managemenet firmware to version of 3.1.0.7 or after if it is 3.1.0.5 or before.
4) Change the setting of the ambient temperature
5) DC power on for all servers
6) Install NEC ESMPRO Agent
