5. Fast Tape Wind and Search Functions

Fast Tape Wind

This function allows you to automatically wind the tape to a
certain position.
There are two ways of doing this:
by entering the playing time, or
by entering the tape position.
Go-to by entering the playing time
If the tape position is displayed, switch to the playing time
display by pressing the

Now enter the desired playing time as three digits with the
numeric buttons ... , then press the

Locating a Certain Recording/
VIDEO INDEX SEARCH SYSTEM
This system allows you to locate the beginning of any of your
own recordings quickly and accurately.
For this, electronic "marks" (VISS marks = Video Index
Search system) are automatically placed at the beginning of
each of your own recordings.
The »marks« can be entered as one or two-digit numbers.
Example:
The tape is wound to the beginning and you wish to see the
5th recording. Press the
ton for the fifth mark, and then turn the shuttle-ring to the
right.
You will see this in the display of the recorder: » VISS
The tape is automatically wound to the beginning of the 5th
recording and playback is started there.
If you wish to see the 3rd recording – related to the beginning
to the tape – after the 5th recording (= 6th mark), then you
must go back 3 recordings (= 4 marks) by pressing the
