To configure the printer to be able to use e-mail, you need to set the IP address and
start the Status Messenger protocol.

Setting the IP Address
To use the printer in a TCP/IP system, it is necessary to set the IP, subnet mask, and
gateway addresses.
Refer to the printer's user's guide for details.

Starting the Protocol
To use e-mail with the printer, first start Status Messenger protocol.
Status Messenger is off when the printer is shipped from the factory. To start Status
Messenger, refer to the printer's user's guide
