4 Installing Mass Storage Devices
Introduction
The HP NetServer supports Fast/Wide SCSI for internal devices. Ultra-SCSI
devices, if installed, run as Fast/Wide devices. The internal CD-ROM drive is an
IDE device.
The HP NetServer accepts these mass storage devices:
Hewlett Packard hot-swap SCSI hard disk drives
CD-ROM and tape drives
Flexible disk drive
NOTE
Some devices, including some DAT drives, may need an
adapter to connect to the server's internal SCSI cable. A
68-pin-to-50-pin SCSI adapter is attached to to the SCSI cable
in the tape drive bay. If your system was not configured with a
DAT, the cable is terminated. (The terminator is clamped to
the rear of the tape drive bay filler panel.)
This chapter describes how to install internal SCSI hot-swap hard disks.
