The following sections tell how to access the setup utility, and how to perform
selected tasks.

Starting the Setup Utility

To reach the setup utility, boot or reboot the system. After the first boot messages
are displayed, this prompt appears:
Press <F2> to enter SETUP
Press F2 while the prompt is displayed. More boot messages appear, followed by
the message Entering Setup... After the embedded Symbios SCSI
initialization and the Option ROM scan both finish , the main Setup screen
appears.
If you do not press F2, the server boots normally.

Main Menu

The setup utility consists of a main menu that leads to several configuration
screens. The menu choices are:
Main. Set system time and date, language, keyboard characteristics,
change flexible disk drive type and processor information.
Advanced. Advanced configuration settings. Includes PCI configuration,
I/O device configuration, set system to work with a plug-and-play OS,
select a large disk access mode, set a pause before boot, choose a
multiprocessor specification version, and chipset control. You can also set
the system to reset its configuration data during the next boot.
Security. Set user and supervisor passwords, set system to require
password after booting, set system parameters for operating in Secure
Mode.
Server. Enable system event logging and set logging options. Also,
redirect the console and set system to retest its processors at boot time.
Boot. Set boot device priority, boot order for the server's internal hard
disk drives, the boot order for removable devices, the maximum number of
I2O drives, message timeout multiplier, and pause interval during post.
Exit. Exit the setup utility with or without saving changes, save changes
without exiting, or revert to previous settings without exiting. When you
exit, the server reboots.
