Configuring MSTP Switch Settings

Beginning in Privileged EXEC mode, use the following commands to
configure MSTP settings for the switch.

Configuring the Spanning Tree Protocol
Purpose
Enter global configuration mode.
Enable configuring an MST region by entering the
multiple spanning-tree (MST) mode.
Define the MST configuration name
Identify the MST configuration revision number.
Map VLANs to an MST instance.
instance-ID —
ID of the MST instance. (Range: 1-4094)
vlan-range —
VLANs to be added to the existing MST
instance. To specify a range of VLANs, use a hyphen. To
specify a series of VLANs, use a comma. (Range: 1-4093)
Return to global configuration mode.
Set the switch priority for the specified spanning-tree
instance.
instance-id —
ID of the spanning-tree instance. (Range:
1-4094)
priority —
Sets the switch priority for the specified
spanning-tree instance. This setting affects the likelihood
that the switch is selected as the root switch. A lower
value increases the probability that the switch is selected
as the root switch. (Range: 0-61440)
Exit to Privileged EXEC mode.
View multiple spanning tree configuration information.
View information about the specified MSTI.
