3. Once the connection is established, click the network line "Network_0" to see all the connected devices in this network in
the Information window.
8.3.2.4 Setting the Parameters
To view and edit the Data Exchange, Information, and the Device Parameter, click the tabs in the Information window.
Data Exchange
The tab is functional only when the selected device is an EIP Scanner.
Information/EIP Parameter
When offline, this tab is shown as Information. Check the information in the EDS file. When adding an EIP Adapter, set up the IP
address of the device here.
When the device is connected, this tab is shown as EIP Parameter. To upload the related parameters from the device, click the
Upload button. To download the related parameters to the device, click the Download button.
8.3.3 Diagnosis
HWCONFIG provides diagnostic information on the connection and data exchange status. For the connection status, refer to the
Adapter connection status and indicator. For data exchange status and error codes, refer to the Data Exchange tab.
To view the connection status information, click On-line Mode on the tool bar. Check the device status from the indicators. See, for
example, the RUN/STOP and Error indicators for the PLC.
The connection status is the network connection status. It has nothing to do with EtherNet/IP data exchange. HWCONFIG sends an
ICMP request (ping) to devices, and if nothing returns, it is seen as disconnected from the network. A connection error is shown with
a dotted line and a warning sign.
