Download and install the SST-TS-CFG software.
5.
Build the configuration using SST-TS-CFG and download it to the gateway.
6.
When the download is completed, select Yes when prompted to restart the gateway.
7.
Install the appropriate device description file in the PROFINET configuration tool.
8.
Configure the PROFINET network as required. Make sure that the configuration matches the configuration present in the
gateway.
When the gateway establishes a connection with the PROFINET master, the gateway shows:
•
NS green indicator = On
•
MS green indicator = On
7.5 Software Configuration
7.5.1 Ethernet Configuration
•
IP Address: IP address of gateway
•
Subnet Mask: Subnet mask of gateway
•
Gateway Address: Network gateway address for the LAN in which the gateway is located.
•
Number of Input Bytes: The length of the input data that is exchanged between gateway and PLC. The length depends on the
PROFINET configuration.
•
Number of Output Bytes: The length of the output data that is exchanged between gateway and PLC. The length depends on
the PROFINET configuration.
•
PROFINET Config: Input/output bytes length of gateway. The PROFINET configuration in the gateway must match the configura-
tion set in the PLC software of PROFINET Master station.
7.5.2 Subnet Configuration - Modbus Master
7.5.2.1 Modbus Master Configuration
•
Baud Rate: 300, 600, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, or 115200 bps
•
Data Bits: 7 or 8
•
Parity Check: None, Odd, Even, Mark, or Space
•
Stop Bits: 1 or 2
•
Transmission Mode: RTU or ASCII
•
Response Timeout: After the Modbus Master sends request, it waits the response time from the Modbus slave. The range is 300–
60000 ms.
•
Delay between Polls: Delay between a response has been received and sending next request. The range is 0–2500 ms.
•
Output Mode:
-
Cycle: Same as Modbus read command output way, start scan output according to scan rate.

Forbidden: Disable output of Modbus write command.

Change of Value: When the output data changes, the write command is sent and stops to output when receiving the right
response.
•
Scan Rate: Scan Rate is the ratio of fast scan cycle to slow scan cycle. If this parameter value is set to 10, then every fast scan
command is sent 10 times and slow scan commands are sent once.

I/O Channel Status Word:
-
In Modbus Master and User Config mode (Poll mode of Output mode only), each command has 1 bit data to indicate the
execution status.

The bit is 1 when the command status is normal, otherwise is 0.

The length of the status word is 2 bytes.

In Modbus Slave and Customer Protocol mode, the 2-byte word is used to indicate the number of times the frame has been
correctly received.
