5.
Click Subnet in the tree view on the left and set the corresponding parameters.

6.
Add Node and Command.
7.
Fill in the Starting Address of the command and enter the Number of Data of the command.
To calculate the non-conflicting mapped memory address for each command automatically, click Auto Mapping. The data
can also be mapped manually.
8.
To check the mapping address in the Conflict Detection window, click the Conflict Detection.
9.
Click Download.
10.
Select the serial port to which the gateway is connected to the computer.
11.
After configuring and downloading the configuration into the gateway, restart the gateway to run normally.
If the upload/download failed, check for the following issues:
Make sure that the gateway is in configuration mode.
-
Set DIP switch 2 to "Off", and when the LED display shows "CF", the gateway is in configuration mode.
Make sure that the RS232 port is wired correctly.
-
If necessary, try replacing the cable.
-
If a USB to RS232 connection cable is used, pay attention to the installation of the USB driver.
Make sure that the COM port used by the computer is correct.
-
Try to reconnect using other COM ports of the computer.
6.5 Working Principle
6.5.1 Data Exchange Mode
The data exchange between Modbus and DeviceNet
DeviceNet
network input buffer
DeviceNet
network output buffer
Modbus read commands read the data and then write the data into the input buffer for DeviceNet
commands get data from the network output buffer, and then output the data to Modbus devices by writing commands.
48 commands can be configured. A Modbus command can be used to read serial Modbus registers.
If there is something wrong with Modbus communication, DeviceNet I/O data cannot be effectively collected, and the data received
through I/O scanning is zero.
When the DeviceNet
interface of the gateway receives network output data, the Modbus interface sends writing commands. After
DeviceNet master station sends data, the Modbus interface of the gateway sends writing commands, and transmits data to Modbus
slave devices. If the PLC is in programming mode, there is no network output data.
During the configuration of the gateway, when the polling mode of output commands is set to "Change of State", the function of
the local data exchange cannot be used. Local data exchange configures writing commands to the input area (0000–3FF0).
6.5.2 Terminal Resistor
The DeviceNet
network requires 120 Ω terminal resistors at the two end terminals of the network. Modbus also requires terminal
resistors. The gateway has a terminal resistor at the side of the Modbus interface. Add a 120 Ω terminal resistor at the other side of
the Modbus network.
