8.3 EtherNet/IP™ Software
EtherNet/IP
related parameters are set through HWCONFIG, which is embedded in ISPSoft.
HWCONFIG provides a graphical user interface, which shows the devices and their EtherNet/IP connections in the Network View.
8.3.1 Running HWCONFIG via an EtherNet/IP™ Scanner
Run HWCONFIG from the ISPSoft project of the EIP Scanner. The EIP Scanner is the EtherNet/IP
module. When using an EIP Scanner, an EIP module is set up through HWCONFIG in ISPSoft. Make sure that the current communica-
tion is via Ethernet in ISPSoft.
Procedure
1.
Open COMMGR.
2.
Add a Driver with Type: Ethernet.
3.
Search for IP addresses of the current devices.
4.
Open ISPSoft.
5.
Select Tools -> Communication Settings.
6.
Select the previously set Ethernet driver and the IP address.
7.
Create a project. In the File menu, select New to show the Create a New Project dialog box.
8.
Select a PLC. In the Create a New Project dialog box, select a PLC that supports EtherNet/IP
9.
Open HWCONFIG by double-clicking HWCONFIG in the Project window.
10.
Upload the settings to HWCONFIG. Select Upload to copy the parameters from the PLC to HWCONFIG.
If there are any changes on the module configuration, use Scan to update the parameters in HWCONFIG.
11.
Save and download the settings from HWCONFIG. In the File menu, select Save to save the settings and then click the
Download button on the toolbar to download the file to the PLC.
The configuration must be saved in HWCONFIG before opening the other communication tools. It is not possible to work
in HWCONFIG while working in the communication tools.
12.
Open the EtherNet/IP
area. Click the button to open the EtherNet/IP
8.3.2 Adding Devices
Add devices manually or by scanning the network. When the devices are added, create the network, and set the parameters.
8.3.2.1 Adding Devices Manually
1.
Select the devices to be added from the Product List. You can also enter the module name in the search bar. Drag the
device onto the Network View.

To edit the IP address, double-click the IP address of the added device.
8.3.2.2 Adding Devices by Scanning the Network
1.
To scan the network, click the Scan button. The scanned devices are shown in the Adapter Scan.
2.
Select the devices, and then click OK to add the selected devices to the Network view.
8.3.2.3 Creating the Network
1.
To create a connection, drag the Ethernet communication port of the device to the network.
2.
To see the Fast Connect option, right-click on the blank area. Click it to see a list of available devices. Select the ones to be
added. Multiple devices can be added at the same time to the network.
