8 EtherNet/IP™
8.1 Installation
8.1.1 EtherNet/IP™ Device
The EtherNet/IP
(EIP) device allows you to build linear topology, ring topology, and star topology networks. The EIP device in-
™
cludes the EIP Builder software, EIP Scanner, EIP Adapter, EIP Tap, and an Ethernet switch. The EIP Scanners and EIP Adapters are
single port devices.
8.1.2 Network Cable Installation
Each EtherNet/IP
device is connected to an Ethernet switch with a CAT 5e cable.

You can use a single port device to build up either a linear or a star network topology. An Ethernet switch and an Ethernet tab are
required to create a star topology.

8.1.3 Setting the IP Address with HMI
Procedure
1.
To access the IP Setting menu, Select Setup → Commissioning → Ethernet setting.
2.
Set the Ethernet address.
IP address: 192.168.1.5 (configurable)
Port: 502
3.
Select Save.
4.
Execute Stop-Run operation on the external communication PLC.
After saving, the Stop-Run operation must be performed before setting the Ethernet address again.
8.1.4 Network Communication Parameter Setting
Install the EIP editing software on a PC to monitor and configure the EIP devices and use a switch to connect to the EIP Scanner and
EIP Adapter.
In ISPSoft you can edit, upload, download, and monitor PLC CPU programs through Ethernet communication. Refer to the ISPSoft
User Manual for more details. Go to ISPSoft -> Help -> ISPSoft User Index and then find section concerning Communication Parame-
ter Setting – Ethernet for more details.
8.1.5 Network Security
To enhance security and performance of the system, use a closed network or LAN with firewall protection to prevent cyber-attacks.
