21. Carefully grasp the adapter by the edges and pull it straight out from the PCI riser
card.
22. If you are not installing another adapter in this slot, place an expansion slot cover
in the adapter slot opening.
23. Lower the plastic retainer seat over the PCI adapter face plate.
24. Rotate the locking latch clockwise until it clicks into the locked position.
25. Continue to follow the screen instructions until you receive a message that the
adapter removal is successful. Successful removal is indicated by the OK message
displayed next to the Command field at the top of the screen.
26. If you do not have other adapters to remove, continue with the next step.
OR
If you have other adapters to remove, press the F3 key to return to the PCI
Hot-Plug Manager menu and then return to step 14 on page 379.
27. Press F10 to exit the Hot-Plug Manager.
28. If you have added, removed, or replaced any adapters, run the diag -a command.
If the system responds with a menu or prompt. Follow the instructions to complete
the device configuration.
29. If you have other options to install, refer to "Procedure List" on page 349. If you do
not have other options to install, continue on to the next step.
30. Replace the service access cover as described in "Service Access Cover
Replacement (Model 6C4)" on page 357 or "Service Access Cover Replacement
(Model 6E4)" on page 364.
31. On a Model 6C4, push the system drawer back into the operating position as
described in "Returning the Model 6C4 to the Operating Position" on page 356.
32. Connect the adapter cables.
33. On a Model 6C4, route the cables through the cable-management arm.
34. On a Model 6C4, close the rack doors.
On a Model 6E4, close the bezel door.
