Configure the interface to RS232 and
set the baud rate in
System>Utility>Interface menu.
Connect the RS-232C cable to the rear
panel RS232 port.
Pin 2: RxD
Pin 3: TxD
Pin 5: GND
Pin 1, 4, 6 ~ 9: No Connection
The RS232C connection uses a Null-modem connection,
in which transmit (TxD) and receive (RxD) lines are
cross-linked.

Invoke a terminal application such as Realterm.
For RS-232, set the COM port, baud rate, stop bit, data
bit and parity accordingly.
To check the COM settings in Windows, see the Device
Manager. For example, in WinXP go to the Control panel
→ System → Hardware tab.
Run this query from the terminal.
*idn?
This should return the Manufacturer, Model number,
Serial number, and Firmware version.
