6. Install the SCSI bus jumper block to the middle two SCSI ports on the
back panel of the tape library.
See Figure 2-9 for a close-up of the jumper block..
7. Connect the power cords of the desktop system and all of the peripherals
to separate power outlets.
Caution – Sun products have been designed to work with single-phase power
!
systems having a grounded neutral conductor. To reduce the risk of electric
shock, do not plug Sun products into any other type of power system. Contact
your facilities manager or a qualified electrician if you are not sure what type of
power is supplied to your building.
8. Turn the power switches on (push down on the | symbol on each power
switch) in the following order:

a. The tape library
b. Devices in the middle of the daisy chain
c. Devices directly connected to the desktop system
d. The monitor
Note – Failure to turn power on in the sequence described above may result in
the system unit not recognizing the tape library.
