■Turning the buffer memory ON
When 'Project data saving specification' (Un\G14080 to 14083) is detected to be ON in a recorder module/camera recorder
module, project data is saved to a save destination for a recording file specified in the recording setting.
The buffer memory of a recorder module/camera recorder module can be operated in a program or by using a function such
as the device/buffer memory batch monitor or intelligent function module monitor function of GX Works3.
For details on the buffer memory, refer to the following:
Page 232 Project data saving specification area (Un\G14080 to 14199)
Use this method in the following cases:
• Saving project data when the load is not high, such as when recording starts (STOP to RUN). If it is high, a communication
response from a peripheral device to a CPU module decreases while project data is being saved.
• Saving changed project data after performing the online program change/file batch online change on a CPU module during
recording operation
Even when turning ON the buffer memory of a recorder module/camera recorder module while recording is stopped, project
data is not saved.
When starting recording while the buffer memory of a recorder module/camera recorder module is ON, project data is saved
when recording starts.
When configuring multiple modules, operate the buffer memory of a module set as the main one.
■Operating the buffer memory of a recorder module/camera recorder module in a program
Project data can be saved by operating the buffer memory of a recorder module/camera recorder module in a program
according to the recording operation.
The following timings are recommended to turn the buffer memory ON for each recording method set in the recording setting.
Recording method
File saving trigger only
Recording startup trigger + file saving trigger
*1 When turning the buffer memory ON at the same time as this timing, set the saving period after trigger longer than the interval for
sampling devices and labels.
■If a program is changed while the recording function is running
Project data (program), which is changed by performing the online program change or file batch online change while the
recording function is running, can be saved by turning ON the buffer memory of a recorder module/camera recorder module.
However, when playing a recording file saved without changing the recording setting and without stopping recording on the
offline monitor by using project data saved after changing the project data (program), reproduced device and label values may
not be displayed correctly.
Therefore, when changing project data (program) by performing the online program change or file batch online change, it is
recommended to stop the recording function and write the project data (program) at the same time as a recording setting as
necessary, and to save the project data by using either of the specification methods.
For details on the project data (program) change during recording operation, refer to the following:
