5-13 Maneuver

Select this item to set maneuver of the device. Maneuver options of the Respina P1 ventilator
are: Insp. Hold, Exp. Hold, P0.1, NIF, Suction Support
 Expiratory Hold
Press and hold this button to keep ventilation at the end of expiration phase of current
respiratory cycle. Expiratory Hold is displayed on the screen as long as the button is pushed.
It is not possible to perform tjis maneuver in PSV and VSV modes.
The maximum duration of Expiratory Hold is 20 sec. As soon as releasing the button,
Expiratory Hold procedure will terminate. If the device is triggered before intiating the
maneuver, the expiratory hold maneuver will not perform at that respiratory cycle.
Additionaly patient is not allowed to trigger the device during the maneuver is performed.
If the button is released before the end of expiration phase, Expiratory Hold will not be
performed.
When this button is pressed, some mechanical parameters are calculated more accurately.
Expiratory Hold maneuver will not cause Apnea.
It is not possible to change the ventilation mode, setting parameters and using the membrane
keys during expiratory hold maneuver.
 Inspiratory Hold
This maneuver can be enabled in all ventilation modes. When this maneuver is activated, no
air moves in and out of the patient lung. In other words, the air is trapped in the lung and the
ventilation is held in the inspiration phase.
