4.4.11 Cutterbar Spindle Shear Pin
To prevent damage to the cutterbar and drive systems,
each disc is attached to a spindle containing a shear
pin (A).
If the disc contacts a large object such as a stone or stump,
the pins will shear and the disc will stop rotating and move
upwards while remaining attached to the spindle with a
snap ring (B).
IMPORTANT:
• Ensure correct orientation of the shear pins during
replacement.
• Spindles
that
left-handed threading.
• Spindles
that
rotate
right-handed threading.
Removing Cutterbar Spindle Shear Pin
DANGER
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected startup of machine, always stop engine and remove key
from ignition before leaving operator's seat for any reason.
