If you have replaced a component or installed an optional device in the server, you
need to reconnect the power cords and all external cables, and turn on the server
and peripheral devices.

Removing and replacing Tier 1 CRUs

Replacement of Tier 1 CRUs is your responsibility. If IBM installs a Tier 1 CRU at
your request, you will be charged for the installation.
The illustrations in this document might differ slightly from your hardware.

Removing and installing drives

Use this information to remove and install drives.
Depending on the server model, the server might come with a SATA attached
DVD-ROM drive in bay 1.
The followings are illustrations of the server and the location of the drive bays.
Your hardware might differ, depending on the model.
Note: If the server is configured for RAID operation using a ServeRAID adapter,
you might have to reconfigure your disk arrays after you install drives. See the
ServeRAID adapter documentation for additional information about RAID
operation and complete instructions for using the ServeRAID adapter.
The following illustrations show the location of the drive bays in the 2.5-inch
hot-swap SAS or hot-swap SATA hard disk drive server models.
