2. Disconnect the CMA from the CMA bracket on the rear of the enclosure.
3. Follow the appropriate steps to prepare for a service action to release the CMA to access the faulty
PSU.
4. Unplug the power cord from the faulty PSU jack.
5. Remove the faulty PSU.
6. Replace the PSU FRU.
7. Connect the power cord to the PSU FRU.
8. Follow the appropriate steps to prepare for a service action to return the CMA.
9. Run common system health check by using the SSR utility.
Note: If you encounter an error or an unexpected result, contact the next-level support.
No tools are needed to complete this task. Do not remove or loosen any screws.
An IBM Elastic Storage System 5147-102 Storage Enclosure is powered by two 1600W high-efficiency,
hot-swappable N+1 redundant power supply units that are installed in the left side at the rear of
the enclosure as shown in Figure 1. Each PSU has a built-in cooling fan for self-cooling and is load-
shared. The enclosure can be powered by a single PSU indefinitely, but two PSUs are necessary for full
redundancy.
