2U Enclosures
Installing a Power Cooling Module
Perform the following steps:
1.
Check for damage, especially to all connectors.
2.
With the power cooling module handle in the open position, slide the
module into the enclosure.
3.
Cam the module home by manually closing the power cooling module
handle. A click should be heard as the handle latch engages.
4.
Connect the power cables to the power source and to the power cooling
module.
5.
Secure the strain relief bales.
The power cooling module is successfully installed.

Overheating damage
Operation of the enclosure with any modules missing will
disrupt the airflow and the drives will not receive sufficient
cooling.
Handle the power cooling module carefully and avoid
damaging the connector pins. Do not install the power
cooling module if any pins appear to be bent.
Electronic shock
With no reliable earth connection an electric
shock can cause by high leakage current (touch
current).
If three or four power cooling modules are
fitted, a 4U84 enclosure must be connected to
at least two separate and independent
power sources.
Electronic discharge
Observe all conventional ESD precautions when handling
modules and components.
Avoid contact with midplane components and module
connectors.
