9 Troubleshooting and Maintenance

9.1 Activation of the Control Software

The activation of Pannoramic® Scanner Software for Research is required in order to use the
service, otherwise the license validation cannot be performed despite possessing a valid Dongle
or license file. Activation must be performed exclusively on the control computer of the Scanner
in the final phase of installation, but it can be performed afterwards by launching the control
software. It then detects that it is in an inactivated status, and the activation wizard is open ed,
and activation can be performed either online or offline.
Online activation
1) For Online activation, a reliable internet connection of the server is necessary. Internet
connection is checked right after the wizard is launched.
Once the connection has been checked and successful, online activation can be
performed (this method is preferred, though offline activation can be selected as well).
