Brake system - Edition 04.2019
– Pull brake light sensor out of its mounting -C-.
Installing
Note
The plunger adjusts itself automatically when the brake light
sensor is inserted.
The brake pedal must remain in the normal position during
installation and must not be depressed.
The brake pedal must be connected to the brake servo.
– Fit brake light sensor in mounting -C- on brake pedal and press
in lightly -arrow A-.
Note
All three retaining tabs on the brake light sensor must engage
audibly.
The sensor must not be rotated in the mounting on the brake
pedal.
The plunger adjusts itself automatically when the brake light
sensor is inserted.
– Turn coloured catch on brake light sensor all the way clock‐
wise -arrow B- to secure sensor.
– Plug in electrical connector.
– Install driver's storage compartment ⇒ Rep. gr. 68 .
After installing the brake light sensor, check the function of the
sensor before driving the vehicle.
6.3
Removing and installing ESP sensor
unit - G419-
The ESP sensor unit - G419- is located at the front of the centre
tunnel below the air conditioner.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Torque wrench - V.A.G 1410-
Removing
– Remove centre console extension ⇒ Rep. gr. 68
– Unplug electrical connector -1- from ESP sensor unit - G419- .
