Removing and installing vacuum pump
- vehicles with 2.4 ltr. petrol engine
The vacuum pump is fitted at the front left of the engine.
Removing
– Release hose clip on vacuum hose using suitable pliers.
Note
On some models the vacuum hose is secured at the vacuum
pump with a bolt.
– Pull off vacuum hose.
Caution
Take care not to damage the vacuum hose. The vacuum hose
must be renewed if it is damaged.
– Remove all bolts from sealing flange of vacuum pump.
– Take vacuum pump out of vehicle.
Installing
Install in reverse sequence, paying attention to the following:
Note
Renew O-rings.
– Set drive lugs of vacuum pump so they engage in slots in
camshaft when vacuum pump is installed.
– Fit all bolts in sealing flange of vacuum pump and secure pump
by tightening bolts to 9 Nm.
Note
On some models the vacuum hose must be secured at the vac‐
uum pump with a bolt (5 Nm).
– Slide vacuum hose onto connection of vacuum pump with new
hose clip.
Caution
Take care not to damage the vacuum hose. The vacuum hose
must be renewed if it is damaged.
– Close hose clip using suitable pliers.
