Menu Code 24 - Local Preset Data Entry Digit Pointer

This mode defines the entry point for a "preset" money or volume entry when a local preset
option is installed on the dispenser. For example, if the attendant or customer wants only whole
dollar preset amounts, you set the mode for whole dollar digits. When the attendant or customer
attempts to enter a preset money amount, the first entered digit will appear in the dollar position
instead of the penny position.
This menu code is used for setting zeroes, up to four places, either for money or volume alloca-
tion in Local Preset.
The customer can preset an amount without having to key in the zeros. Example:
If the customer wants $5.00 in fuel all he has to press on the keypad is 5, the zeros are already
displayed (dispenser programmed with two zeros in the money display).
The options are:
"UP Arrow" button toggles between the money and volume preset settings.
"+ / - " button adds zeros to the Money or Volume preset setting. Press this button to add a
"zero" where you want it automatically filled in the preset at the beginning of a preset sale.
To program the number of zeros needed in Money or Volume in local preset, follow this proce-
dure:
1. After the Manager's Mode has been accessed, press the number 2 and 4, then the MODE
button on the keypad. See Figure 1.
If the dispenser has not been programmed since it came from the factory, the Money Preset
appears in the main display with no zeroes placed automatically for the customer. See Fig-
ure 2.
2. To change from Money Preset to Volume Preset setting, use the "UP ARROW" button on
the keypad. To return to Money Preset press the "Up Arrow" button.
3. To add zero's to the preset, select either Money or Volume preset with the "Up Arrow"
button. Then, use the + / - button to add zeros for the digits you want to have zero's at the
beginning of the preset sale.
NOTE: If an error is made continue pressing +/-until the correct number of zeros is
needed.
NOTE: To change the settings re-enter Menu Code 24 and press the ENTER button to
clear the forced zeroes.
4. When the correct options appears in the main display, press the ENTER button to save your
setting.
4. Press the CANCEL button to exit this menu code.

Fig. 1
Fig. 2 - This screen shows the
MONEY preset setting (only
2 decimal places). Since there
are no "zero's" showing, when
the customer enters a money
preset, he would enter dollars
and pennies. See Figure 4.
Fig. 3 - By using the "UP" arrow,
you can view the current
"VOLUME" preset setting. You
know this is volume since there are
3 digits to the right o the decimal
point.
Fig. 4 - Again, we are looking
at the "MONEY" preset. By
using the +/- button on the
manager keypad, we have
filled in the "pennies" (right of
the decimal place) with
"zero's" so that when the cus-
tomer enters the money
amount, the pennies portion is
already filled in with zero's
and all that has to be entered is
the whole dollar amount.
