Menu Code 22 - How to Set a Dispenser Address

This menu code allows the Manager to set a dispenser address for each hose position when mul-
tiple hose positions are on the same communications loop when using Current Loop communi-
cations (menu code 21 set for Current Loop) OR for addressing the hose position when multiple
hose positions are being used to communicate with a console that uses RS485 communication
protocol (menu code 21 set to RS485 communication protocol). Normally, with Current Loop,
this setting will always be 0. OR, if using RS485 communication protocol and menu code 21 is
set for RS485, menu code 22 allows you to set up to 16 unique (0-15) addresses for RS485 com-
munication. See Figure 3.
See next page for an explanation of the different modes.
If menu code 21 is set for Current Loop - Leave set at the default value of 0. For more infor-
mation on Current Loop, refer to the next page.
If menu code 21 is set for RS485 - Addresses 1-16 are available. Since the selectable values
are from 1-16, if this is hose position #1, set to address 1. Hose position #2, set to address 2
etc..., Hose position #16 set to address 16. When using RS485 communication, each fueling
point (hose position) must have a unique address. Do NOT set two hose positions to the same
address number. See Figure 2 and 3 on next page.
IMPORTANT - When using the Pulse Output to a Fleet System, the system must be set for
RS485 mode in mode 21 AND, side 1 CPU must have address 1 and side 2 must be set for ad-
dress 2. If the addresses are NOT set, the Pulse Output board will not work properly because it
will not know which CPU to communicate with.
If menu code 21 is set for Stand Alone - Menu code 22 becomes obsolete.
To select a different option in Menu Code 22, follow this procedure:
1.
After the Manager's Mode has been accessed, press the number 2 and 2, then the MODE
button on the keypad. See figure 1. The PPV display shows the dispenser is in Menu Code
22.
If the dispenser has not been programmed since it came from the factory, the number 0 ap-
pears in the main display. This is the default setting. See Figure 2.
2. To change the setting, use the 0, 1,2,or 3 button on the keypad to enter a new address if
menu code 212 is set for current loop or use 0-15 is menu code 21 is set for Rs485.
NOTE: If an error is made, press the correct number. The new number replaces the er-
ror.
3. When the correct option number appears in the main display, press the ENTER button to
save your setting.
4. Press the CANCEL button to exit this menu code.

each hose position com-
municates to the console
on the same communica-
