4.2
Connecting the 3RW51 soft starter
Requirements
● Observe the conductor cross-sections and tightening torques in the data sheet or on the
front beneath the hinged cover.
● Pay attention to the required tools indicated on the front beneath the hinged cover.
Procedure
Hazardous voltage.
Will cause death or serious injury.
Turn off and lock out all power supplying to this device before working on this device.
1. Connect the main circuit connections (line side / motor side) of the 3RW51 soft starter
(Page 57).
2. Connect the external bypass contactor to the main circuit terminal (Page 59).
3. Connect the control terminals of the 3RW51 soft starter.
Connecting the control terminals (screw terminals) (Page 63)
Disconnecting the control terminals from the screw-type terminals (Page 64)
4. Connect the analog output (optional).
5. Mount the cover for the control cable channel (Page 67).
Result
The 3RW51 soft starter is connected and ready to operate.
