3.9 Replacing the sample needle and needle guide

Warning:
To avoid personal contamination with biologically hazardous or toxic compounds,
wear clean, chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves when performing this procedure.

Required tools and materials
• Chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves
• Protective eyewear
• Needle-nose pliers
• 1/4-inch open-end wrench
• T6 TORX driver
• T10 TORX driver
• T20 TORX driver
• Needle assembly kit
To replace the sample needle and needle guide:
1. Power-on the sample manager.
2. Remove any sample plates from the sample chamber.
3. In the console, select the sample manager, and then click Maintain > Replace
components > Needle.

6. Using a T20 TORX driver, loosen the two captive screws that secure the access panel, and
then remove the panel.
