E.3
I/O Variable (SIO1)
When I/O is registered as tag to use it, it is not necessary to register I/O variable. To use I/O
directly without using tag, it is necessary to register I/O variable.
The I/O variable is classified as user defined variable. Though you can assign a desired
variable name, its use (address) will be determined by I/O module registration and thus the
address (Word No. and Bit No.) becomes a fixed value. How to obtain the desired address is
described below.
(1) Allocation by module number
The address is determined by the module number used to register I/O module by
Engineering Tool. One I/O mode uses 16 words each for reception (input) side and
transmission (output) side. The SIO variable starts from address 0 for reception side and
starts from 512 for transmission side. The module number for I/O of LC5** (SLP03 or
SLP04) is fixed to 00.

Word No.
(2) Data configuration for each module
The configuration of 16 words for each module is shown below. The 4th and 5th words for
input side are alarm data (0: Normal / Other than 0: Error) and the 6th words and
subsequent words of input (output) are I/O data region. "Offset" in the table shows relative
word number from the start of each 16 words.
