5.1 Application Development Environment
This chapter describes the hardware environment required for developing applications run on the PS-G unit,
as well as the software environment including the libraries, definition files, and the platform SDK (hereafter
referred to as SDK).
5.1.1

Hardware Environment

The following describes the hardware configuration required for developing and running PS-G unit
applications.
Connect the PS-G unit to a personal computer for developing applications using a USB cable (FP-US00 or
commercially available product) or the Data transfer cable (PSG-CB01). Download your application from the
personal computer to the PS-G unit and then run the application. It is also possible to download the
application via Ethernet.

package's hardware environment specifications for details.

Requirements for connecting with the ActiveSync for the first time
USB Cable

via ActiveSync for the second time and later, the connection can be made with an Ethernet
cable only.
Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Service Pack 4 or later

Windows compatible personal computer with Pentium processor
(Pentium-II 450 MHz or faster processor is recommended)
Minimum96 MB for Windows 2000 Professional
Minimum160 MB for Windows XP Professional
Required at least 120MB on the eMbedded Visual C++.
Required at least 900MB for the System on the Visual Studio .NET
2003, 3.3GB for the data.
Required at least 150MB on the SDK.
Required CD-ROM Drive
At least one of the following is required: USB port (USB1.1 or higher),
serial port, and LAN port (10BASE-T/100BASE-TX)
Having both a USB port (USB1.1 or higher) and LAN port (10BASE-
T/100BASE-TX) is recommended.
