5.3.2.2 Replacing a Compressor

Prerequisites
Context
Procedure
Step 1 Shut down the air conditioner over the EMS.
Step 2 Disconnect the power supplies from the air conditioner control unit and the outdoor unit after
the air conditioner shuts down over the EMS.
Step 3 Reclaim all the refrigerant from the system using a refrigerant retrieval device to ensure that
there is no pressure inside the system.
Step 4 Remove the left front panel and right rear panel of the outdoor unit, and remove the thermal
insulation cover to expose the compressor completely.
Step 5 Remove the nut from the compressor top connection box using an 8 mm socket wrench, and
disconnect the cable.
Step 6 Disconnect the ground cable from the compressor and remove the oil heating belt by
following the instructions in
Issue 02 (2016-11-15)
Tools: diagonal pliers or scissors, Phillips screwdriver, 8 mm and 13 mm socket
wrenches, welding equipment, refrigerant retrieval device (required based on local
conditions), nitrogen cylinder, refrigerant steel cylinder, vacuum pump, pressure gauge,
leather hose, protective gloves.
The compressor needs to be replaced.
A spare compressor of the same model is available and functional.
Before replacing the compressor, disconnect the power supply and discharge refrigerant
from the system.
After the replacement, perform the leakage test with nitrogen, then vacuumize again and
charge refrigerant.
Reclaim or dispose of the refrigerant in accordance with the local laws and regulations.
Remove the left front panel and left rear panel from the outdoor unit when replacing the
compressor.
Method 1: Log in to the ECC800 mobile phone or pad app as admin.
a.
Choose Home.
b.
Tap the cabinet that houses the air conditioner in the micro-module view.
c.
Tap the air conditioner to be set in the cabinet layout diagram.
d.
Choose Real-time Data > OFF.
Method 2: Log in to the ECC800 WebUI as admin. Choose Monitoring > Air
Conditioner > NetCol5000-A0104 > Controls > Ctrl Info, set On/off status on
EMS > Off, and then click Submit.
0104 in NetCol5000-A0104 is variable and subject to changes with the air conditioner connection
sequence. The displayed value prevails.
Discharge the refrigerant if the local laws and regulations allow.
