4-10 Nipper Height Adjustment

If the booklet spine is too sharp, or too round, or some
bubbles are caught in the spine glue, adjust the nipper
height.
Turn off the power switch and open
the lower nipper door.
Adjust the nipper height.
- Insert the adjusting pin into the nipper height
adjusting ring so you can turn the ring.
- Turn the ring counterclockwise (decrease the
number) to raise the nipper, or turn it clock-
wise (increase the number) to lower the nip-
per.
- The height changes by 0.2 mm (0.01") for
each step on the scale.

Adjusting Pin
- If the spine is round, turn the ring coun-
terclockwise. If the spine is too sharp, turn
the ring clockwise.
- Usually the ring is set between 3 and 6.
- The ring is set to 4.5 at the factory.
The nipper is too low-
turn the ring to the right.

If there are bubbles on the spine, raise the
nipper height, or increase the spine glue
amount.
