5-5 Milling Cutter Replacement
Attach the rear milling guide using
the two mounting screws.
Move the front milling guide 20 mm
from the rear milling guide.
- Turn the pulley by hand to leave a 20 mm
(0.8") opening.
Fasten the mounting screws on the
milling cutter as follows.
(1) Turn on the power switch.
(2) Keep pressing the brake release button on
the machine and rotating the milling cutter
clockwise until a mounting screw of the milling
cutter moves into the center of the 20 mm
(0.8") gap.
(3) Turn off the power switch.
(4) Tighten each mounting screw of the milling
cutter using the supplied hexagon Allen
wrench.
(5) Repeat steps (1) to (4) to install all four
mounting screws.
Attach the upper knife using the
two mounting screws.
- Mount the upper knife temporarily.
- After mounting the upper knife temporarily,
check that there is 0.1 mm (0.004") gap
between the upper knife and the milling cutter
using the thickness gauge. (This is the thick-
ness of one 64 gsm sheet.)

- Rotate the milling cutter counterclockwise
slowly to check that the milling cutter does not
hit the upper knife.

CAUTION
In general, do not sharpen the top surface
of the milling cutter. This will reduce the
height of the milling cutter. If the milling
cutter
is
sharpened,
between the milling cutter and the milling
holder. This will raise the milling cutter as
shown in the illustration below. The rough-
ening cutter should also be lowered. Make
a stack of sheets which has a thickness
equal to the amount removed from the mill-
ing cutter during sharpening. Insert this
stack between the roughening cutter and
the roughening cutter setting gauge.

Attach the milling section safety
cover.
Attach the milling section front
cover.
Close the left safety cover and turn
on the power switch.
