Gluing Problems
Problem
There are glue strings hanging from
the nipper unit.
There is a lump of glue on the nipper.
Not enough side glue is being
applied.
Not enough spine glue is being
applied.
Too much side glue is applied.
Too much spine glue is applied.
Glue is not melted.

Cause
Too much spine glue is
being applied.
The spine glue is leaking
from the cover sheets.
The side glue is turned
OFF.
The side glue roller dis-
tance is too narrow.
The gap between the side
glue roller and the glue
amount adjusting plate is
too small.
The spine glue is turned
OFF.
The setting for spine glue
is too low.
The wiper opening is too
narrow.
The side glue roller dis-
tance is too wide.
The nipper height is too
high, and the spilled glue
leaks to the side.
The gap between the side
glue roller and the glue
amount adjusting plate is
too wide.
The setting for spine glue
is too high.
The wiper opening is too
wide.
Breaker of the heater is
tripped.

Remedy
Decrease the amount of spine
glue.
Decrease the amount of spine
glue.
Decrease the length of the
spine glue.
Turn the side glue ON.
Make the distance wider.
Widen the gap.
Turn the spine glue ON.
Increase the spine glue
amount.
Increase the wiper opening.
Make the distance narrower.
Reduce the nipper height.
Reduce the gap.
Decrease the spine glue
amount.
Reduce the wiper opening.
Check if the breaker is not
tripped. If the breaker trips
repeatedly, please call your
local dealer.
