RealPresence Collaboration Server (RMX) 4000 Components and Components Replacement
Install or Replace MPMx/MPMRx Card on the RealPresence
Collaboration Server (RMX) 4000
All MPMx/MPMRx cards can be installed or removed while the RMX 4000 is powered on and operating.
Note: Upgrade from MPM/MPM+ to MPMRx card mode
When upgrading from MPM/MPM+ to MPMRx, all connections to the RTM IP 4000 require Ferrite
cables.
If only one media card is installed in the system, it must be inserted in the top slot of the RMX
chassis.
To remove a faulty MPMx/MPMRx card:
1 If applicable, loosen the captive screws and remove the slot cover.
2 On the card to be installed, move the ejector levers to their full open position.
3 Insert the card into the slot until the ejector levers touch the front edge of the card cage.
4 Push the ejector levers to their closed position and tighten the captive screws on each side of the
card, securing the MPMx/MPMRx card to the RMX.
The blue HS LEDs on the MPMx/MPMRx card and the Control Unit start flashing and the power on
cycle for the card is initiated:
 The card resources are added to the system resources list
 The number of available resources on the RMX is usually increased to the current CFS license
level
 Port usage is recalculated and the Port Gauges and Video/Voice Port Configuration are updated
When the power on cycle of the MPMx/MPMRx card is completed, the blue HS LEDs will turn OFF.
The green RDY LED on the MPMx/MPMRx card switches on and remains lit.
