1.2.1 Setting the operating mode and protocol
Operating mode and protocol
Remote I/O operating mode
All functions of the CPX terminal are controlled
directly via EtherNet/IP or Modbus TCP.
A CPX-FEC or CPX-CEC that may be integrated
into the CPX terminal works as a passive function
module without controller.
Operating mode Remote Controller
A CPX-FEC or CPX-CEC integrated into the CPX
terminal takes over I/O control.
EtherNet/IP protocol
The CPX terminal uses the EtherNet/IP protocol.
Modbus TCP protocol
The CPX terminal uses the Modbus/TCP
protocol.
