Measure charts with the i1 spectrophotometer
For the media family calibration and the color validation you use an i1 spectrophotometer to
measure charts.
You can use the ruler that belongs to the equipment to prevent that you touch the ink layer on the
chart with the i1 spectrophotometer.
Read the user manual of the i1 spectrophotometer for more information.
Prepare the measurement

1. Ensure you know which target media must be used to perform the measurement.
2. Prepare the target media to print the charts.
3. Connect the i1 spectrophotometer to the USB port of the control panel.
4. Make sure the protective slider shows the white calibration tile of the calibration plate and
place the i1 spectrophotometer on the calibration plate.
5. Press the measurement button. The status indicator lights pulsate white when the i1
spectrophotometer is ready for use.
Measure charts
1. Place five blank sheets under the calibration chart.
2. Position the i1 spectrophotometer on the chart or in the carriage on the ruler.
3. Press the measurement button for 1 second and then move the i1 spectrophotometer across
the first row of patches.
4. Repeat step 3 for each other row.
