If you need to retake vital signs, users of a Bayer® glucometer must retake a blood
glucose measurement, otherwise the Bayer H3 Adapter will not re-send a reading
and the message above will be encountered. This does not apply to the blue J&J H3
Adapter, which will re-send all readings.
Clearing the H3 Adapter Memory
Once the adapter's memory of readings from a connected glucometer has been
cleared, the H3 Adapter may "re-send" all readings from the newly connected glu-
cometer. This procedure may be needed for troubleshooting, re-sending vitals or
transferring the device between patients:
If you are using a black Bayer H3 Adapter you may connect a new glucometer or
pair with another Genesis Touch to clear the adapter of readings.
If you are using a blue J&J H3 Adapter, you may reinstall the batteries and wait
approximately 30 seconds. The re-installation of batteries will allow the connected
glucometer to re-send data from another J&J adapter to the H3 Adapter, and it will
not impact users who are using the same glucometer.

Determine meal patterns and other life events to decide on a consistent time to
report blood glucose measurements.
If using a fingertip to take measurements, consider using the side of the
fingertip by the fingernail to avoid having sore spots on the frequently used part
of the finger.
If an error occurs during transmission you will see the following Genesis Touch
screen after about five minutes. The H3 Adapter will also flash a red light five
times before powering off:
