4.2.1

Isolated ground connection

The OPTE6 option board is galvanically isolated. In CANopen networks that are completely galvan-
ically isolated the CAN ground signal is carried in the cable line. It is connected at only one point
into common ground potential. If one CAN device with not galvanically isolated interface is connect-
ed to the network, the potential for isolated CAN ground is given. Therefore only one device with not
galvanically isolated interface may be connected to the network.
