7.7 Replacing the Universal Drip Tray
For proper operation, the universal drip tray must be properly seated on the base plate of
the fraction collector. An improperly installed universal drip tray may lead to the
impression that the fraction collector is misaligned.
1. Remove the rack adapter or the fraction racks from the universal drip tray as shown in
Fig. 11 on page 33.
2. Lift the drip tray from the base plate such that the holes in the two screws in the base
plate disengage from the two holes in the drip tray.
3. Place the new universal drip tray on the fraction collector such that the two screws on
the base plate are placed inside the holes in the tray.
4. Verify that the universal drip tray is not misaligned. This means that the drip tray and
the base plate have to be arranged in parallel (compare figures below).

7.8 Updating the Firmware
The fraction collector is shipped with the most recent firmware version. However, in some
cases, a firmware update may be required.
Only qualified service personnel should perform firmware updates. For more information,
