3.3.2 Diverter Valve Connections

When connecting capillaries to the fraction collector, observe the following general
precautions:
Observe the precautionary statements for capillaries and capillary connections in
section 1.2.2 (→ page 3).
When you connect capillaries, make sure that the connectors are free from contaminants.
Even minute particles may cause damage to the system.
Use only the capillaries shipped with the fraction collector and original Dionex spare
capillaries.
Connect the waste and sample inlet tubing to the diverter valve. Verify that the tubings are
properly connected and tightened.
Note the following when connecting the sample inlet:
In order to make sure that the capillary end is not pushed into the valve bore, place the ferrule
at the capillary end so that the capillary does not protrude from the ferrule (→ Fig. 6). Then
carefully install the capillary.
