2.5 Important notes for the enabling mechanism
NOTICE
Enabling button must not be fixed
Fixing the enabling button in one of its positions can cause malfunctions in the fail-safe
automation system.
Make sure that the enabling button is not being held permanently in any of its positions.
Note
The enabling button is effective when the HMI device is connected to a connection box. The
following applies:
• "E-stop button evaluated by safety relay" operating mode
The emergency stop button is lit.
• "Stop button evaluated by safety relay" operating mode
The emergency stop / stop button is not lit with this operating mode..
Note
Removing a discrepancy error
The enabling button has two channels. Both contacts must be closed at the same time for
the "enable" and "panic" switch positions. A discrepancy error is generated if one of the
contacts is open while the other is closed. When a discrepancy error occurs, enabling is no
longer possible. To reactivate enabling, press the enabling button once completely into the
"panic" position and then release it.
