8. Preparing for Operation

Basic preparatory procedures include the following:
1. Switching on the Instrument (see i.

8.1. Switching on the Instrument

ATTENTION! Tighten up all connectors before turning the controllers on.
Disconnection of connectors during operation may cause damage to the
electronic components.
1. Turn the spectrometer on with the button on the power supply.
2. Turn the controllers on with the toggle switches on the front panel.
3. Turn the computer on.
ATTENTION! The controllers must be on before starting the Control
program.
4. Start up the Nova program using one of the options below:
by clicking the program icon available in the computer desktop;

by opening the file Nova.exe available in the program folder.

8.2. Verifying Adjustment of the Displacement Sensors

This procedure serves to verify adjustment of displacement sensors of the scanners of the
exchangeable mount and of the lens.
For detailed guidance on verification, adjustment and calibration of the sensors, refer to
Performing Measurements, Appendix.
