7.2. Powering Sequence

Switching on

ATTENTION! Tighten up all connectors before turning the controllers on.
Disconnection of connectors during operation may cause damage to the
electronic components.
1. Switch on the spectrometer pushing the button at the power box.
2. Switch the laser on by turning the key of the laser power supply to the
3. Switch on the main and the slave controllers using the toggles at the front panel.
4. Switch on the computer.

ATTENTION! Launch the Control program only with the controllers and
the spectrometer switched on.
5. Launch the Nova program with one of the following methods:
Using a shortcut located on the Desktop;

Using the Nova.exe file located in the program directory.

In the left bottom of the Main window, a device status indicator is displayed. The indicator
may be in one of three states:
– initialization was successful. The device is ready to work;
– the controller is switched off;
– the interface board is not installed, or the controller is not valid.

NOTE. It is recommended to start the instrument 40 minutes before starting
measurements for proper warm-up.
The device is now ready for operation.
Switching off
1. If the CCD-matrix of Andor model was applied for measurements, it should be warmed
up to room temperature. For this, in the
